Goliath Heron

The aptly named Goliath Heron is largest of the heron family with an average height of 1.4m and a wingspan of over 2m. The rain in the park had caused a lot of the animals to seek shelter but this noble, solitary hunter took the weather in its long stride and continued to fish unperturbed. iI didn’t get a chance to see the heron in flight with its colossal wings outstretched, but it’s certainly a good reason to head back and seek the giant out another time.
